Dr. Scott Handley is working on several research projects across Africa devoted to better understanding how microbial ecology and invasive pathogens impact human health. His work in Africa includes the link between microbes and heart disease, the impact of HIV vaccines on the body, and training of local medical staff. Dr. Handley is an associate professor of pathology and immunology in the School of Medicine.
