Robin Shepard leads the student chapter of WashU’s Engineers Without Borders (EWB) trips to Ethiopia,  where the group has improved residence quarters’ electrical reliability and drinking water storage at the Mekelle School for the Blind. Shepard, a career consultant for Washington University, also works with EWB-USA in Uganda and is an engineering consultant working on hygiene (WASH) issues such as girl friendly toilets in schools for Dignity Period, a nonprofit started by a WashU physician creating reusable feminine hygiene products.




Goals & Impact

Provide engineering consultation for water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) issues in schools and other facilities in Ethiopia and Uganda.
