Jay Turner is helping people in urban areas of South Africa breathe easier. Turner is the vice dean for education and a professor in the McKelvey School of Engineering and an expert in air quality. His team’s analysis of air quality in heavily populated parts of South Africa could lead to better pollution controls. He is also contributing to research on the neurological impact of magnesium mining in South Africa.
